mRowntree lived on a stretch of the Charles River in Needham and Dover that inspired this series of watercolors. They explore the whites of light on the river, where absolute white is the paper color. The works’ panoramic 38” X 11” size helps exaggerate the white effect. They sparkle as much as a watercolor can.
